A New Jersey postal worker was arrested after running over two co-workers with her car this week during a dispute, police said.

Lashanda Johnson, 27, of East Orange was charged after she fled the scene, police said.

The incident happened on Sunday at approximately 11:57 am when police responded to a 911 call at the US Postal Service's Dominick V. Daniels Processing and Distribution Center at 850 Newark Turnpike in Kearny, authorities said.

Police found a 25-year-old woman and a 26-year-old woman – postal service employees – hurt in the parking lot. The victims reported that a third postal employee hit them with her car during a dispute, police said.

One of the victims said she was run over by the car; the other employee reported that she was hit by the car and knocked down. The driver fled the scene in her vehicle before police arrived, police said.

Both victims were transported to University Hospital in Newark by EMS. At press time, only one of the victims has been discharged. The hospital status of the second victim is not yet available.

Kearny Police and US Postal Inspectors began an investigation, and at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Johnson was located in East Orange, police said.

Johnson was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose (her car), unlawful possession of a weapon and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily injury.

Johnson remains in the custody of US Postal Inspectors.
