KEARNY, NJ — A man who fell asleep in his car, and who had a BB/pellet gun with him, prompted a heavy police response outside a U.S. Post Office processing center in Kearny as of 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Kearny police said.

The man fell asleep in his car in the parking lot of the USPS New Jersey Priority Mail Processing Center on Harrison Avenue, police said. News outlets initially reported there was a man with a gun in the parking lot there, but in actuality, it was only a BB gun in his car.

As of 1:30 p.m., the situation was resolved, and the man was taken into custody by Kearny police, presumably as a precaution. Nobody was injured in the incident.
