Secaucus Green Festival, Fishing Derby This Weekend!
The Fishing Derby will be held at the Duck Pond from 9 a.m. to noon May 5; then head over to Xchange for the Green Festival from 11-4 p.m.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Secaucus is kicking off May in a big way, with two big town events this Saturday, May 5: First, the annual fishing derby will be held at the town duck pond.
The Secaucus duck pond is located on Metro Way. Register for the derby from 8 - 9 a.m., and the derby goes from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be prizes for the biggest fish caught, plus food and fun.
Also on Saturday, May 5 is the Secaucus Green Festival! This will go from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Xchange (5000 Riverside Station Blvd.). There will be ecological presentations and workshops for kids and adults alike, meant to educate people on the environment of the Meadowlands and the surrounding area.

There will also be pony rides, a petting zoo, a rock climbing wall, raptors, a butterfly exhibit, eco arts and crafts, face painting, sand painting and puppet shows. There will also be live music and food trucks.
Note: There were supposed to be pontoon rides on the Hackensack River, but those were canceled because the docks at Xchange were damaged this winter, the town said. The entire festival will be free and is open to all Secaucus residents and families.
