Secaucus: Man Arrested On Rt. 3 With Large Amounts Of Cocaine

He was found on Rt. 3 in Secaucus with more than 200 grams of cocaine; more coke, heroin and loaded guns were found in his home, cops said.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Last Tuesday, Aug. 13 following a one-week investigation, a Newark man was arrested by members of the Hudson County prosecutor's office Narcotics Task Force after he was found on Rt. 3 in Secaucus with more than 200 grams of cocaine in his car.

Cristian Torres-Olmedo, 27, was arrested without incident on Rt. 3 in Secaucus shortly after 7:30 p.m. He was arrested after Task Force Officers observed in excess of 200 grams of cocaine in plain view inside his vehicle.

The Hudson County prosecutor did not say why he was initially pulled over.

A subsequent search of his home in Newark led to the recovery of an additional 220 grams of
cocaine and 550 grams of marijuana, said the county prosecutor. Also recovered was a loaded Cobray 9mm prohibited assault rifle, a loaded Taurus Spectrum .380 caliber handgun, a loaded Springfield Armory .45 caliber handgun, a stolen/loaded Kel-Tec 9mm handgun, a loaded Regent .45 caliber handgun, a high capacity magazine and a bullet proof vest.

The total street value of the recovered cocaine is approximately $16,000. Torres-Olmedo has been charged with multiple weapon and narcotics offenses.
