Secaucus Man Drove Tesla Nearly 75 MPH On County Avenue, Caused Serious Crash, Police Say
The crash occurred Jan. 13; police say Jobeth Manga was speeding at nearly triple the posted speed on County Ave. when he hit another car.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Jobeth Manga, 21, of Secaucus was arrested Tuesday by the Secaucus Police Department Traffic Bureau and charged in connection with a two-car crash that seriously injured the other driver.
The crash occurred Jan. 13: Secaucus Police responded to County Avenue at the intersection with the UPS employee parking lot. Manga was driving a 2023 Tesla Model 3, which collided with a 2024 Hyundai Kona.
The driver of the Hyundai Kona had to be taken to Jersey City Medical Center with serious injuries.

Responding officers observed the Hyundai with heavy front-end damage and the Tesla with damage to the front driver-side quarter panel. Secaucus Police say that prior to the crash, the Tesla was traveling southbound on County Avenue when it struck the Hyundai, which was trying to make a left turn into the UPS parking lot from the northbound lane.
An investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police Traffic Bureau, with assistance from the Hudson County Regional Crash Investigation Team, determined that Manga was driving his Tesla at nearly triple the posted speed limit on County Avenue, which is 25 miles per hour.

Investigators say excessive speed and reckless driving caused the crash.
Manga and his front-seat passenger were minorly injured, and evaluated at the scene by EMS. They did not have to go to the hospital.
Manga was charged with one count of fourth-degree Assault by Auto [2C:12-1c(1)], Reckless Driving [39:4-96] and Speeding [39:4-98]. He was released on a summons to appear in Central Judicial Processing Court.
This crash investigation was led by Secaucus Police Officers Leonardo Minervini and Dillon Genatt.
“This arrest is another example of the meticulous work performed by the Secaucus Police Traffic Bureau under the command of Lieutenant Giacomo Sallustio,” said Chief Dennis Miller. “This crash serves as a reminder that speeding and reckless driving poses a serious risk to the motoring public.”
