Secaucus Police Blotter, Dec. 17 - Dec. 23

An intoxicated man was arrested Dec. 20 at Cuatro Amigos Mexican restaurant in Secaucus for resisting arrest and assaulting an officer.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus police and unedited by Patch, all of last week's arrests in town:

On Dec. 17 at 11:01 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus police arrested a 26-year-old male, Armando Umpierre of Newark for Possession of CDS believed to be Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Umpierre was issued two motor vehicle summonses, served his complaint summons and was released from custody.

On Dec. 17 at 7:48 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus police arrested a 22-year-old male, Kanard White of Jersey City for an outstanding warrant out of Jersey City with no bail. Mr. Kanard was issued three motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the Jersey City Police Department.

On Dec. 17 at 10:00 p.m., Secaucus police responded to UPS located at 493 County Ave on a report of a disorderly employee. During the investigation, the police arrested a 30-year-old male, Marquis Jeffries of Jersey City for an outstanding NCIC warrant issued by the Essex County Sheriff’s Office with no bail. Mr. Jeffries was subsequently transported to the Essex County Jail.

On Dec. 18 at 9:10 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 30-year-old female, Alissa Brown of Passaic for an outstanding warrant out of Garfield, NJ in the amount of $1,000. Ms. Brown was able to post bail for the warrant, was served four motor vehicle summonses and was released from custody.

On Dec. 19 at 10:48 a.m., Secaucus police responded to UPS located at 47 Hartz Way on a report of two individuals stealing scrap metal. During the investigation, the police arrested a 55-year-old male, Willie Davenport of Jersey City and a 47-year-old male, Jerard Craig of Newark for theft. Mr. Davenport was further charged with Possession of CDS believed to be Marijuana. Mr. Craig was served his complaint summons and was released from custody. Mr. Davenport was served his complaint warrant along with four motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On Dec. 19 at 3:00 p.m., a 35-year-old female, Justine Marquard of Passaic was processed for the charges of shoplifting and conspiracy stemming from a shoplifting incident that occurred at Home Depot on Oct. 31, 2018. Ms. Marquard was processed and was released from custody pending her appearance in court.

On Dec. 19 at 9:21 p.m., Secaucus police responded to the area of 8th Street and Front Street on a report of a suspicious male on the private property of a residence in that area. During the investigation, the police arrested a 39-year-old male, Noel Figueroa of Jersey City for possession of hypodermic needles, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal trespassing and hindering apprehension for providing false information. Mr. Figueroa was served his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail. Police said this was just a random trespassing incident.

On Dec. 20 at 1:31 a.m., Secaucus police responded to the Quatros Amigos restaurant located at 217 Rt. 3 East on a report of an intoxicated and disorderly patron. During the investigation, the police arrested a 27-year-old male, Emad Ali of Paterson for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a police officer for allegedly spitting at an officer and biting an officer’s hand. Mr. Ali was served his complaint summonses and was released from custody.

On Dec. 21 at 5:21 p.m., Secaucus police responded to the area of 101 Plaza Centre on a report of an assault. During the investigation, the police arrested a 47-year-old male, Gregg Desort of Secaucus for driving while intoxicated. Mr. Desort was further charged with DUI Refusal. Mr. Desort was served his summonses and was released to the custody of a responsible adult.

On Dec. 21 at 9:59 p.m., Secaucus police responded to the Morris County park police department to take custody of a 40-year-old male, Peter Mandas of Mendham, NJ for an outstanding warrant out of Secaucus in the amount of $1,000. Mr. Mandas was able to post bail for the involved warrant and was released from custody.

On Dec. 23 at 9:07 p.m., Secaucus police responded to the Red Roof Inn on a report of a 911 call that was disconnected. During the investigation, the police arrested a 27-year-old male, Jermaine Williams of Jersey City for the charges of burglary and robbery. Mr. Williams was also found to have two outstanding warrants out of New Brunswick, NJ with no bail. Mr. Williams was served his complaint warrant and was transported to the Hudson County Jail.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
