On Dec. 20 at 1:01 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to Walmart on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 31-year-old male, Devonte Newby of New York, NY for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)]. Mr. Newby was issued his complaint summons along with five motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

On Dec. 22 at 10:45 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to Walmart on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 49-year-old male, Ahmed Attia of Perth Amboy, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)], Possession of CDS believed to be Heroin [2C:35-10A(1)], Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2A], False Statement in procurement of a Credit Card [2C:21-6B] and Identity Theft [2C:21-17A(1)]. Mr. Attia was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On Dec. 23 at 12:41 a.m., Secaucus Police attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on a car that was traveling at a high rate of speed on Rt. 3 west. The car failed to stop for police. A short while later, the involved vehicle was found to have been involved in a motor vehicle crash on Rt. 3 west in Clifton. Police arrested a 20-year-old male, Ethan Batista of East Orange, NJ for Eluding [2C:29-2B]. Mr. Batista was issued his complaint summons along with 4 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

On Dec. 23 at 8:20 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Asbury Park Police Department to take into custody a 52-year-old male, Troy Huff of Brooklyn, NY for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $2,500. Mr. Huff was subsequently released on his own recognizance by the Secaucus municipal court pending a future court date.

On Dec. 23 at 2:34 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Extended Stay Hotel located at 1 Meadowland Parkway on a report of a dispute. During the investigation, the police arrested a 38-year-old male, Anthony Ocampo of North Bergen, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office with no bail. Officers from the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office responded to Secaucus Police headquarters and took custody of Mr. Ocampo for transport back to their authority.

On Dec. 24 at 1:56 a.m., Secaucus Police observed a motor vehicle idling in the area of Sampson Place. The police observed an individual who appeared to be sleeping in the driver’s seat of the motor vehicle. During the investigation, the police arrested a 47-year-old male, Joseph Lewis of Secaucus, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Lewis was issued his motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with an additional five motor vehicle summonses and he was released into the custody of a responsible adult.
