Secaucus Police Blotter, Feb. 2 - Feb. 8
Secaucus Police made a number of prostitution arrests on Friday night, Feb. 6.
SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus Police, all of last week's arrests:
On Feb. 2 at 1:08 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 23-year-old man of North Bergen, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Mine Hill Township, NJ in the amount of $2,500 with a 10% option. He was able to post bail for the warrant, was issued 1 motor vehicle summons and was released from police custody.
On Feb. 2 at 4:51 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 34-year-old man of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Union, NJ in the amount of $1,000. He was released on his own recognizance pending a future court date. He was issued two motor vehicle summonses from Secaucus Police.

On Feb. 2 at 7:48 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 33-year-old man of Passaic, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Glen Rock, NJ in the amount of $750. He was able to post bail for the warrant, was issued 2 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.
On Feb. 3 at 9:18 a.m., Secaucus Police observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the Walmart parking lot. During the investigation, the police arrested a 35-year-old man of Union City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $5,000 with a 10% option. He was able to post bail and was released.

On Feb. 3 at 11:12 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to TD Bank located at 1262 Paterson Plank Road on an individual attempting to purchase a MacBook Pro with fraudulent money orders. Police arrested a 20-year-old man, Silas Taylor of Medford, NY for Forgery [2C:21-1A(3)], Theft by Deception [2C:20-4], Issuing Bad Checks [2C:21-5] and Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information to the police. The police also arrested a 25-year-old man of New York, NY for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Roselle Park, NJ in the amount of $1,000. Both men were released with summonses to appear in court.
On Feb. 3 at 10:11 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to Red Lobster located at 700 Plaza Drive on a report of an individual attempting to leave the establishment without paying his bill. Police arrested a 40-year-old man, Jeffrey Im of Ridgefield, NJ for Defiant Trespassing [2C:18-3B] and Theft of Services [2C:20-8A]. He was issued a complaint summons and released.
On Feb. 4 at 12:10 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Hudson County Superior Court to take into custody a 26-year-old man of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $10,000 with a 10% option. He was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Edison, NJ in the amount of $1,000 and 1 outstanding warrant out of Edison, NJ in the amount of $500. Custody was transferred to the Edison Police Department.
On Feb. 5 at 12:03 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 30-year-old man of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $3,000 a 10% option along with 1 outstanding warrant issued by the NJ Transit Police Department in the amount of $250. He was released on his own recognizance.
On Feb. 6 at 5:52 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 33-year-old man, Tyrique Williams of Urbana, IL for Receiving Stolen Property [2C:20-7A]. Williams was issued a complaint summons along with 2 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.
On Feb. 6 at 7:50 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to Walmart on a report of individuals attempting to purchase items using counterfeit money. During the investigation, the police arrested a 32- year-old male, Malachai Edwards of the Bronx, NY along with a 29-year-old male, Deangelo Gardiner of Philadelphia, PA, a 19-year-old male, Darshan Watt of the Bronx, NY and a 19-year-old female, Akeelah Garrett of the Bronx, NY for Forgery [2C:21-1A(3)] and Conspiracy to commit Forgery [2C:5-2A(1)]. Mr. Edwards was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of the Palisades Interstate Court in the amount of $1,000 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Palisades Interstate Court in the amount of $250. Ms. Garret was found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of East Windsor, NJ in the amount of $500.00. Mr. Edwards was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail. The rest were released on their own recognizance pending future court dates.
On Feb. 6, in an effort to reduce vice related crimes in Secaucus, the Secaucus Police arrested the following individuals; at 7:57 PM, the police arrested a 40-year-old female, Yuliana Beltran-Paz of Whitestone, NY for Engaging in Prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)]. Ms. Beltran-Paz was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody. At 8:53 PM, the police arrested a 37-year-old female, Diana Granada-Escobar of Long Beach, NY for Engaging in Prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)]. Ms. Granada-Escobar was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody. At 10:14 PM, the police arrested a 34-year-old female, Aned Diaz Chacon of Elmhurst, NY along with a 40-year-old female, Elizabeth Figueroa-Nunez of Newark, NJ for Promoting Prostitution [2C:34-1B(2)] and Engaging in Prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)]. Ms. Diaz Chacon and Ms. Figueroa-Nunez were issued their complaint summons and were released from police custody. At 10:54 PM, the police arrested a 53-year-old female, Ju Xia of Flushing, NY for Engaging in Prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)]. Ms. Xia was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody. (Secaucus Police never release the names of the hotel/hotels where these arrests occur.)
On Feb. 7 at 4:40 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to Rt. 3 west for a report of a motor vehicle crash. During the investigation, the police arrested a 24-year-old woman of South Hackensack, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. She was issued a motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with an additional 3 motor vehicle summonses and released into the custody of a responsible adult.
On Feb. 8 at 3:50 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to Sam’s Club on a report of a 6-year-old child being left unattended inside the store. At 6:17 p.m. on the same date at Secaucus Police headquarters police arrested a 45-year-old man of Cliffside Park, NJ for Endangering the Welfare of a Child [2C:24-4A(2)]. He was issued a summons to appear in court and was released. His name was not released by police to protect the privacy of the minor child.
