Secaucus Police Blotter, Jan. 20 - Jan. 26

A Jersey City man was arrested on Sunday in Secaucus after police said they found metal knuckles and a billy club on him.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus police, all of last week's arrests:

On Jan. 20 at 4:43 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus police arrested a 42-year-old male of Jersey City for one outstanding NCIC warrant issued by the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office with no bail along with one outstanding warrant issued out of East Rutherford in the amount of $150. He was issued two motor vehicle summonses and officers from the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office responded to Secaucus police headquarters and took custody of him.

On Jan. 21 at 4:15 p.m., the NJ State Police responded to Secaucus police headquarters and transferred custody of a 31-year-old male of Fairview for one outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus in the amount of $750. He was able to post bail for the involved warrant and was released from police custody.

On Jan. 22 at 8:16 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus police arrested a 37-year-old female of West New York for one outstanding warrant issued out of Scotch Plains in the amount of $1,000 along with three outstanding warrants issued out of Secaucus in the amount of $300. She was able to post bail for the involved warrants, was issued three motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

On Jan. 23 at 9:49 a.m., Secaucus police responded to the area of Radio Avenue on a report of a male urinating in public. During the investigation, the police arrested a 57-year-old male of Edgewater for two outstanding warrants issued out of Cliffside Park, NJ in the amount of $650, one outstanding warrant issued out of Fort Lee in the amount of $250 and one outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus in the amount of $100. He was issued one Town Ordinance Violation for Public Urination [TO:106-1] and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail for the outstanding warrants.

On Jan. 23 at 2:35 p.m., Secaucus police responded to the Essex County Jail to take into custody a 28-year-old male of East Orange, NJ for one outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus in the amount of $100. He was unable to post bail for the involved warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On Jan. 24 at 11:42 a.m., Secaucus police responded to the Union County Jail to take custody of a 31-year-old female of North Plainfield for one outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus in the amount of $100. The Secaucus Municipal Court did release her on her own recognizance and she was released from police custody pending a future court date.

On Jan. 25 at 7:25 p.m., Secaucus police responded to the Home Depot located at 1055 Paterson Plank Road on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 35-year-old female, Lauren Matukaitis of North Arlington and charged her with Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(3)] and Possession of Universal Product Code Labels [2C:21-2.4A]. Ms. Matukaitis was served her complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On Jan. 26 at 8:11 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 48-year-old male, Jomobram Jones of Jersey City for Possession of Certain Prohibited Weapons [2C:39-3E], specifically having on his possession two pairs of metal knuckles and one billy club, said police. He was also charged with a disorderly persons charge of marijuana possession. He was also found to have one outstanding warrant issued out of Elizabeth in the amount of $280 with a 10 percent option. Jones was issued his complaint summons along with one motor vehicle summons. The Elizabeth Police Department did release Jones on his own recognizance and he was released from police custody.
