Secaucus Police Blotter, July 1 - July 7
An employee was charged with theft from Marra's drug store and a 12-year-old boy was charged with arson at the Harper apartments.
SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by the Secaucus police, all the arrests and incidents in the past week in town:
On June 26 at 10:30 p.m., the Secaucus Fire Department responded to 120 Park Plaza Drive (the Harper apartments) on a report of a fire within one of the apartments. An investigation revealed that the fire was purposely set. A 12-year-old juvenile male, of Secaucus, was arrested on July 1 and charged with arson [2C:17-1b(2)] and causing or risking widespread injury or damage [2C:17-2c]. The fire was contained to one unit, but four apartments suffered severe water damage.
On July 3 at 1:00 p.m., In furtherance of an investigation being conducted by the Secaucus Police Department Detective Division in regards to a theft occurring at Marra’s Drug Store located at 1285 Paterson Plank Road, the police arrested a female store employee, of Secaucus, and charged her with theft [2C:20-3A]. It is alleged she stole more than $50,000; the alleged theft occurred over a one-year period. She was served her complaint summons and was released from police custody. When Patch called Marra's, a woman who picked up declined to comment on the incident.

On July 3 at 1:10 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the area of Paterson Plank Road and the Maple Street ramp on a report of a male who had exposed himself to a vehicle that was passing by. During the investigation, the police arrested a 47-year-old male of Secaucus, NJ for lewdness [2C:14-4B(2)] and endangering the welfare of a child [2C:24-4A(1)]. He was served his complaint summons and was released from police custody.
On July 4 at 9:00 p.m., officers from the New Jersey State Police responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters to transfer custody of a 21-year-old male of Jersey City, NJ for one outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $500. He was able to post bail for the warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ and he was subsequently released from police custody.

On July 5 at 11:39 a.m., Secaucus police responded to Walmart located at 400 Park Plaza Drive on a report of a stolen cellphone. During the investigation, the police arrested a 31 year old male of Brooklyn, NY for Theft of Property Lost/Mislaid [2C:20-6]. He was served with his complaint summons and was released from custody.
On July 5 at 4:58, Secaucus police responded to Century 21 located at 21 Century Way on a report of an employee theft. During the investigation, the police arrested a 48 year old male of Jersey City, NJ for Theft [2C:20-3A], Possession of CDS believed to be Tramadol [2C:35-10A(1)], Possession of CDS believed to be Clonazepam [2C:35-10A(1)], Possession of a Prescription Legend Drug believed to be Olanzapine [2C:35-10.5E(1)], Possession of a Prescription Legend Drug believed to be Tizanidine [2C:35-10.5E(1)] and Possession of a Prescription Legend Drug believed to be Metformin [2C:35-10.5E(2)]. He was served his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.
On July 6 at 5:30 p.m. Secaucus police responded to the area of Rt. 3 East on a report of a female walking in a lane of traffic. During the investigation, the police arrested a 59 year old female of Zephyrhills, FL for one outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of Pasco County Sheriff’s Office in Florida with no bail. She was additionally charged with Being a Fugitive from Justice [2A:160-10] She was served with her complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.
