Secaucus Police Charge 7 With Prostitution Throughout Town's Motels
Seven people were arrested in an undercover sting last Tuesday, and charged with prostitution, money laundering and drug crimes.
SECAUCUS, NJ — Secaucus Police continue their crackdown on the prostitution business that frequently operates at the town's motels, as police arrested seven people last Tuesday, charging them with prostitution, money laundering and drug crimes.
Secaucus Police declined to say which motels the arrests were made at, only saying it was "various" hotels throughout town and investigations are ongoing.
Secaucus Police officers were working undercover, and posed as clients of the prostitutes.

"We are specifically targeting prostitution because of the additional crime it brings to our hotels, e.g. drug dealing, robberies and sex assaults," said Police Chief Dennis Miller. "The day before this operation, a prostitute was robbed at knifepoint. The Secaucus Police Department will continue these efforts to ensure the safety of the transient community who stay at our hotels."
The undercover operation was done by officers with the SPD Anti-Crime Unit, Detective Division and Patrol Division.

The following seven people were arrested last Tuesday, Oct. 25. Many listed Secaucus as their place of address:
- At 6:58 p.m., Idalmis Diazdiaz, 40, of Secaucus, charged with engaging in prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)] and promoting prostitution [2C:34-1B(2)]
- Jose Carballosa, 42, of Secaucus, charged with promoting prostitution [2C:34-1B(2)].
- At 6:38 p.m., Laura Bermudez Murcia, 26, of Secaucus charged with engaging in prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)], Possession of CDS believed to be “Tuci” (pink cocaine, a synthetic hallucinogen) [2C:35-10A(1)] and Money Laundering [2C:21-25B(1)].
- At 7:49 p.m., Maximina Martinez, 36, of Secaucus, charged with engaging in prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)] and Money Laundering [2C:21-25B(1)]
- At 9:14 p.m., Yakayra Jimenez Guzman, 25, of Union City, NJ charged with engaging in prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)].
- At 10:28 p.m., Lucia Ubierasosa, 39, of Secaucus, NJ charged with prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)] and Money Laundering [2C:21-25A].
- At 11:16 p.m., Kellee Chhun, 31, of Lowell, MA charged with engaging in prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)] and Promoting Prostitution [2C:34-1B(2)].
