Secaucus Police Chase 4 Teen Suspects In Stolen Car Friday Morning

SECAUCUS, NJ — At 5:03 a.m. Friday, a stolen car entered Secaucus, said the Secaucus Police Dept. in a post on Facebook Friday morning.

The vehicle was driving in a reckless manner and upon observing this, a Secaucus police officer tried to stop the car, which had four occupants. This vehicle fled and struck another police vehicle. The four teens then got out of the car at Paterson Plank Road and Huber Street, where a wild foot pursuit ensued through the North End of town.

A shelter in place was advised and a plan was developed should time elapse into the arrival of Huber Street staff and students Friday morning, which it did not.

After a lengthy search and deploying K9 units even brought in from out of town, three out of the four suspects were apprehended. All apprehended were juvenile teen boys from Newark. The fourth suspect who remains at large is no longer believed to be in the area, said police.

"A very thorough search with officers and a K9 searched the Huber Street School property in its entirety to ensure that the premises are safe for students and staff," said the police department.

An officer will be stationed at Huber Street School Friday as a continued precaution.
