Secaucus Rotary Club Gives $500 To Tech High School
Secaucus Rotary is a fun group that seeks to make life better in town. The March 16 fundraiser involved cornhole and roast pig:
SECAUCUS, NJ — The Secaucus Rotary Club was a silver-level sponsor of the second annual Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser for the Hudson County Schools of Technology, the tech high school near Laurel Hill.
The tournament was held on the evening of March 16 at the school, located on the Frank J. Gargiulo campus in Secaucus.
The fundraiser was held by the Hudson County Schools of Technology Foundation, the fundraising arm of the school.

Secaucus Rotary donated $500 to the tech high school, all of which will go directly to students who need it. Hudson Regional Hospital was a gold-level sponsor, meaning they gave $1,000. Other companies and groups in town attended and donated, too; see their names on the placards in the second photo.
The tournament featured 32 two-person teams competing until it got down to the final two teams. The winners won a beautiful cornhole game set.

Secaucus Rotary Club President Robert Merlo and Secaucus Rotarian Diane Rich, along with Secaucus Rotary Club members Sherri Merlo, Robin Anselmo, Phil Papa, Gina Gonzalez, Mike Milano, Dianne Vasquez, Rick Saltarelli, Lydia Staab and Rajesh Nagpal presented the check to Hudson County School of Technology Foundation director of development Silverio “Sal” Vega and Natalia Novas.
Food was served at the event, and there was plenty of it. There was a roasted pig, which provided delicious pulled pork, beef tips, spare ribs, corn bread, different kinds of salads, beer, wine and soda, cookies, cake and other desserts.
The Secaucus Rotary Club supports many charitable organizations in the community, providing scholarships for Secaucus students, supports the Veterans Pantry and the town food pantry, the Secaucus Emergency Fund, the Secaucus VFW, Toys for Tots and much more to benefit the town of Secaucus.
