Secaucus Woman Honored By Girl Scouts Of North Jersey

Secaucus resident Pia House Walker will be honored at the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey's annual Women of Achievement gala on April 6.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Secaucus resident Pia House Walker will be honored at the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey’s annual Women of Achievement gala on April 6.

House Walker will be honored "for exemplifying the spirit of Girl Scouting;" she will be recognized at their ceremony held at Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park.

She is not a Girl Scout volunteer, but the organization said they choose her because she is a female role model for young girls.

House Walker currently works as a senior vice president and chief human resources officer at St. Joseph’s Health. She has more than 25 years of experience and as part of her job at St. Joe's, Walker is committed to improving patient outcomes and prioritizing diversity and inclusion.

The Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey strongly supports programming such as STEM, outdoors, financial literacy, civic advocacy and healthy living. They are also currently recruiting and training volunteers to engage and mentor girls.

House Walker was also the recipient of the 2019 Individual Diversity First Award, which honors individuals who exhibit leadership and dedication through diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.

She was also recently named a 2021 Top 50 HR Officer through the National Diversity and Leadership Council.

"House Walker’s dedication to prioritizing diversity and inclusion while fostering a healthy work environment truly makes her as an exceptional role model for young girls and professionals alike," said the Girl Scouts.
