Suspects Arrested In Secaucus Armed Robbery On Seaview Drive

An armed robbery took place on Seaview Drive in Secaucus just past 9 p.m. this past Sunday, Oct. 25, said Secaucus police.

SECAUCUS, NJ — An armed robbery took place on Seaview Drive in Secaucus just past 9 p.m. this past Sunday, Oct. 25, said Secaucus police.

The suspects robbed a facility there at gunpoint and knifepoint. While en route to the scene, Secaucus police said they observed the suspect vehicle fleeing on Meadowlands Parkway towards Rt. 3, reaching speeds of approximately 100 mph.

A vehicular pursuit was initiated, but was terminated in Jersey City. After the pursuit was terminated, the getaway car struck another car in Jersey City and fled. There were no injuries reported as a result of the collision.

While chasing the getaway car, Secaucus police saw the car occupants discard proceeds from the robbery along with other items of value, which were all later recovered. The suspect vehicle was abandoned and later located by a Hudson County Sheriff’s officer in the parking lot of Dunkin Donuts at 507 Summit Avenue, in Jersey City.

The two suspects were identified and a day later, with assistance from Homeland Security and the Port Authority Police Department, Brandon Weekley was arrested at Terminal A of Newark Liberty
International Airport.

During the early hours of October 27, the Hudson County Regional SWAT Team secured the home of Aymen Massaud on Herbert Place in Jersey City. Massaud who is charged as a co-conspirator in the robbery, was arrested without incident. At the time of his arrest, a knife was recovered in Massaud’s car, said police.

Weekley, 30, of Pittsburgh, PA, was charged with Armed Robbery [2C:15- 1a(1)], Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery [2C:5-2/2C:15-1a(1)] and Eluding [2C:29-2b]. Massaud, 31, of Jersey City was charged with Armed Robbery [2C:15-1a(1)], Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery [2C:5-2/2C:15-1a(1)], Unlawful Possession of a Weapon [2C:39-5d], Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose [2C:39-4d] and Tampering with Evidence [2C:28-6(1).]

under the leadership of Special Agent in Charge Jason J. Molina, U.S. Customs and Border
Protection (CBP) at the Port of New York/Newark, under the leadership of Port Director Marty
Raybon, and the Port Authority Police Department, for the apprehension of Brandon Weekley. I also want to thank the Jersey City Police Department for their willingness to assist us in this
investigation. In a county such as Hudson, criminals are not confined by jurisdictional
boundaries and these arrests were only possible because of the collaborative effort put forth by
multiple law enforcement agencies.”
