Tinted Windows Car Stop Reveals Loaded Gun, Secaucus Police Say
A car stop in Secaucus on Monday for tinted windows resulted in police finding a loaded gun, which was also reported stolen, said police.

SECAUCUS, NJ — A car stop in Secaucus on Monday for tinted windows resulted in police finding a loaded handgun, which was reported stolen out of North Carolina, police said.
Secaucus police first stopped the Ford Taurus at 10:18 a.m. Monday for having tinted windows. Police stopped the car in the Red Roof Inn parking lot on Meadowlands Parkway.
During the stop, an odor of raw marijuana was detected coming from the car, police said.

A search of the Taurus uncovered several ounces of suspected marijuana, a loaded .45 caliber Glock handgun with loaded “high-capacity” magazines, which contained both hollow point and full metal jacket ammunition, said police. Police said there were more than 40 rounds of bullets in the handgun.
Drug paraphernalia and a small amount of U.S. currency were also seized.

Additionally, the Glock handgun was found to be stolen from Fayetteville, North Carolina, police said.
Sharome Neals, 26, of Carteret was arrested without incident. He was taken to the Hudson County Jail.
He was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Handgun [2C:39-5b], Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana [2C:35-5b(11)], Possession of Marijuana [2C:35-10(a)(3)], Possession of Firearm while Committing a CDS Offense [2C:39-4.1], Certain Person Not to Have Weapons [2C:39-7(b)], Receiving Stolen Property [2C:20-7], two counts of Possession of High Capacity Magazine [2C:39-3j], Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition [2C:39-3(f)] and Possession of Handgun Ammunition [2C:58-3.3].
