Union City Man, 20, Charged With Selling Drugs In Secaucus
Police said this young man was selling drugs in Secaucus, and a search of his apartment found magic mushrooms and over eight pounds of pot.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Secaucus police say this man was supplying a variety of drugs to Secaucus residents and a search of his Union City apartment this week unearthed more than 25 pounds of suspected edible marijuana candy, along with more than eight pounds of suspected marijuana.
Also, 135 suspected Adderall pills, more than 600 pills of suspected Xanax and a quantity of Psilocybin (magic) mushrooms was seized, said police. Police said he was growing the mushrooms in his Union City apartment.
The anti-crime unit of the Secaucus police, also known as the town's vice squad, developed information that Darryl Rodriguez a.k.a. “Pharaoh," 20, was supplying a variety of drugs to Secaucus residents.

Secaucus police worked with Union City PD's "Quality of Life Unit" to collaboratively do a narcotics investigation. At the culmination of the two-month long investigation, Rodriguez's 39th Street apartment was searched.
Police said they also found $28,874 in suspected drug proceeds, a stun gun and more than 1.5 pounds of suspected THC Oil along with more than 400 THC oil vape cartridges.

“The Secaucus Police Department will work collaboratively with outside law enforcement to pursue and apprehend criminals that affect the quality of life of the residents of Secaucus," said Police Chief Dennis Miller. "The ongoing partnership between the Union City and Secaucus Police Departments will help to inhibit drug distribution operations within the town."
"Those that engage in criminal conduct are not hampered by jurisdictional boundaries," said Union City Police Chief Nichelle Luster. "Working together with our law enforcement partners and our community, we foster better relationships, build trust and enhance public safety for all."
Rodriguez was charged with two counts of Maintaining/Operating a CDS Production Facility [2C:35-4], Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana [2C:35-5b(10)a] and [2C:35-5b(10)(5)], Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance [2C:35-5b(5)], [2C:35-5b(4)] and [2C:35-5b(13)], four (4) counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance [2C:35-10a(1)], two counts of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance with 500 feet of Public Housing [2C:35-7.1a], Possession of Prescription Legend Drugs [2C:35-10.5e(2)], Possession of Marijuana [2C:35 10a(3)], Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with the Intent to Distribute [2C:36-3], Possession of a Weapon while Committing a CDS Offense [2C:39-4.1c] and Money Laundering [2C:21-25].
He was taken to the Hudson County jail.
