Closing Sales Coming To The Secaucus Toys R Us
Liquidation closing sales, which will be up to 80 percent off products, will likely begin this Thursday or Friday, March 22 and 23.

SECAUCUS, NJ — The Secaucus Toys R Us and Babies R Us, which are magnet stores attracting shoppers from all over Hudson County, will likely close by May 14, store employees told Patch.
But the stores could close earlier or later, depending on when they run out of inventory. Liquidation sales, which will eventually grow to 80 percent off products, will likely begin this Thursday or Friday, a store employee said. Sales up to 60 percent off have already started at the Wayne Toys R Us, which is the next nearest location.
On March 14, the company told employees at the Secaucus Toys R Us the two stores would close in two months, so by May 14. But the final closing date could be later or earlier.

The toy retailer last week confirmed reports it will sell or close 735 U.S. stores, including both its Toys R Us and Babies R Us locations, and will be liquidating its inventory and holding going-out-of-business sales. The confirmation comes six months after the New Jersey-based company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in federal court.
"I am very disappointed with the result, but we no longer have the financial support to continue the company's U.S. operations," Toys R Us CEO Dave Brandon said last week. "This is a profoundly sad day for us as well as the millions of kids and families who we have served for the past 70 years."
