WWE Wrestlers Sheamus And Cesaro Visit Secaucus Firehouse
Tower 2 firehouse was packed Friday with Secaucus firefighters, police officers and kids eager to catch a glimpse of the WWE stars.
SECAUCUS, NJ — If you thought you saw what looked like a couple of professional WWE wrestlers on the quiet streets of Secaucus this afternoon, well — you weren't mistaken.
Sheamus and Cesaro, a pair of professional WWE wrestlers known as The Bar, were on hand at Tower 2, the 7th Street firehouse Friday afternoon, where they presented a furniture donation from Cricket Wireless. Sheamus and Cesaro also surprised one lucky Secaucus volunteer firefighter with two tickets to WWE WrestleMania, happening this Sunday right across the river at MetLife stadium.
"These guys are pretty big," said one Secaucus mom who brought her toddler son to the firehouse to meet Sheamus. "Not as big as (WWE wrestler) John Cena but up there!"

The firefighter who won the WrestleMania tickets is Battalion Chief Joe Schoendorf, who seemed stunned when Sheamus called out his name Friday afternoon at the firehouse. Schoendorf lives in Secaucus, in Harmon Cove Towers, and he's almost always seen around town in his fire uniform.

"I had no idea this was coming," said Schoendorf, who was clearly tickled pink. "I'm a big WWE fan, have been for years. These guys are pretty big names; Sheamus came up wrestling with guys like The Rock, Triple H, Kane and the Undertaker. When I was in high school they asked me to wrestle, and I thought it was gonna be like WWE. I was pretty disappointed when I learned it wasn't, but I still stuck with it for all four years!" he laughed.
Schoendorf said he would first ask his wife if she wanted to accompany him to WrestleMania, and if she declines, he will ask his two adult sons, who are also both volunteer Secaucus firefighters.
The Secaucus fire department is all volunteer.
Cricket Wireless donated all-new furniture, such as couches and tables, to the 7th Street firehouse. They also donated cooking supplies, such as new pots and pans and a CrockPot. Cricket Wireless, which supplies pre-paid cell phone plans, is the official sponsor of the WWE. They are a sister company of AT&T.

"We chose Secaucus because this town is so close to MetLife stadium, and that's where WrestleMania will be on Sunday," said a Cricket Wireless spokeswoman.
"I'm really looking forward to Sunday night," said Schoendorf. He was clearly really happy to have been given the free tickets.
"You guys are the real heroes," said Sheamus to the Secaucus firefighters. "Thank you for everything that you do."
