100-Year-Old Woman Escapes South Brunswick Fire Sunday

The fire broke out at 3 p.m. Easter Sunday in the Monmouth Mobile Homes Park off Rt. 1.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A 100-year-old woman was able to escape her burning mobile home with only a minor injury Sunday afternoon in South Brunswick Township.

The fire broke out at around 3 p.m. in a mobile home in Monmouth Mobile Home Park, on Cherry Street.

The fire destroyed the mobile home in minutes, but the 100-year-old woman inside was able to get out safely.

The fire appears to have started from cooking on the stove, police said. Kendall Park Fire Department was able to bring the fire under control in 10 minutes.
