21-Year-Old Killed In Monday Night Crash In South Brunswick
Cassidy Cutler of Monroe died after the car she was traveling in lost control, hit a guardrail and flipped over, police said.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – A 21-year-old Monroe resident was killed in a Monday night crash in the township, South Brunswick police said.

On Monday, at 10:31 p.m. Eli Szmer, 32, of Monroe was driving a 2003 Ford Econoline van on Route 130 southbound. Szmer lost control of his vehicle and crossed the grass divider, the northbound lanes, and struck the guardrail off the northbound shoulder of the highway, police said. The impact of the collision caused the van to flip over.

Cutler was the front seat passenger. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Szmer was uninjured in the crash, police said. Szmer and Cutler were the only two occupants of the van.
The Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad, Monmouth Junction Fire Department, New Jersey State Department of Transportation and the Middlesex County Medical Examiner responded to the crash.

Route 130 was closed in both directions for five hours after the crash.
The South Brunswick Police Traffic Safety Bureau is currently investigating the crash.
