Pretty Sticky: 40,000 Pounds Of Syrup Spills Onto NJ Highway
Breaking: Things are getting sticky in South Brunswick as a tractor trailer carrying 40,000 pounds of syrup has crashed Tuesday.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — What a sticky situation. A tractor trailer carrying 40,000 pounds of Coca-Cola syrup has crashed causing the cargo to spill onto Route 32 in South Brunswick, police reported at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
"The tractor trailer had just come off the NJ Turnpike and was traveling on Cranbury-South River Road when it made a right onto Route 32 west. The load in the tractor shifted and the trailer split in half causing the tractor to jackknife," according to South Brunswick Police Captain James Ryan.
The fuel tank on the tractor rupture spilling fuel. The South Brunswick Police, Monmouth Junction Fire Department, Middlesex County Hazmat, and the New Jersey Department of Transportation responded.

Two lanes are currently blocked. and there is no exit from Cranbury-South River Rd onto Rt 32.
The tractor trailer driver Benedict Saint-Louis, 40, of Rahway was uninjured.

Clean up crews continue to work at the scene. Route 32 westbound has one lane getting by and there is no exit from Cranbury-South River Road onto Route 32.
Cleanup is expected to take several hours.

Police reported at 12:10 p.m. that a second tractor trailer has overturned on the off ramp of Exit 8A. Drivers are being advised to avoid the area.
