5 Things in South Brunswick this Weekend

SBHS Marching Band hosts Tournament of Champions, First Aid open house, final weekend games for SBPAL football highlight weekend events in and around South Brunswick.

Saturday

 South Brunswick High School, 750 Ridge Rd, Monmouth Junction, 2:30 p.m.

The SBHS "Tournament of Champions" Marching Band Festival is set for beginning at 2:30 p.m. There will be 25 bands performing, including the Rutgers University Scarlet Knight Band at 6:05 p.m. The SBHS Viking Band will close out the festival with a performance at 9:54 p.m. The price of admission is $10.

 121 New Road, Kendall Park, 1 p.m.

The squad will be hosting an open house event at the building on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 121 New Road in Kendall Park. The open house also celebrates, Fire Prevention Week with both emergency service agencies on hand to meet the community, show off their emergency vehicles and answer questions about the tasks the first aid and fire squads perform for the community. The Kendall Park First Aid and Rescue Squad will also have members of the Explorer Program for high school students at the open house.

Sunday

SBPAL Vikings Away on Sunday, 4 Baird Rd, Millstone Township, 10 a.m.

Come out and cheer on the mighty SBPAL Vikings as they play football in Millstone this Sunday.  These games mark the end of their remarkable regular season. Tickets are not required.

Schedule as follows:

  • 10 a.m.- Mighty Mites
  • 11:30 a.m.- Jr. Pee Wees
  • 1:00 p.m.- Pee Wees

The Tiny Mite team is playing at 9 a.m. in Edison.

South Brunswick Soccer Club Spring Travel Team Tryouts, Harvest Woods Park, 238-298 Culver Road, Dayton, 6:45 p.m.

The South Brunswick Soccer Club will hold tryouts for spring travel soccer teams on Sunday from 6:45 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Harvest Woods Park. All players must register for tryouts at www.sbsoccer.org. Players must wear shin guards and cleats are recommended. DO NOT WEAR ANY TRAVEL TEAM JERSEY/ UNIFORM.  Players wearing travel uniforms will not be allowed on the field. 

Worship - Contemporary, Abundant Life Christian Center, 2245 U.S. 130, Dayton, 10 a.m.

Non-denominational Christian worship open to all.
