9 Candidates Are Vying For 3 Seats On South Brunswick BOE
Three Board members have terms expiring in 2021. See who's running for a seat on the Board of Education this November.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — It's a crowded field in the South Brunswick Board of Education elections this year. Nine candidates are vying for three open seats in the upcoming November elections, according to the Middlesex County Clerk's office.
There are nine seats on the South Brunswick BOE.

- Julie M. Ferrara
- Imran Bukhari
- Deepa Karthik
- Erin Popolo
- Jayesh Patel
- Barry Nathnason
- Lisa M. Rodgers
Three incumbents are seeking reelection. Current Board President Barry Nathnason is running for reelection under the slogan "Putting Kids First." The other two Board members with terms expiring in 2021 are Stephen F. Parker, running under the slogan "Every Child Matters," and Lisa M. Rodgers running for reelection under the slogan "Every Child Counts."
Deepa Karthik, Erin Popolo, and Jayesh Patel are running as a slate under the slogan "Your Kids Here."

While BOE elections in New Jersey are bi-partisan, the lines are being blurred in Morris County this year, with the GOP backing a few candidates.
