SOUTH BRUNSWICK – A 21-year-old Branchburg man died Wednesday after being ejected from his vehicle in a two-car crash on New Road at Route 1, authorities said.

While attempting this turn, the driver struck the passenger side of a 2025 Audi Q5 that was traveling westbound on New Road. The Audi lost control and subsequently overturned.

During the overturn, the driver, a 21-year-old from Branchburg, was ejected and sustained serious injuries. Life-saving measures were attempted; however, the 21-year-old succumbed to his injuries at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital shortly after arriving, Ryan said.

The driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries, Ryan said.

The crash resulted in the closure of New Road for approximately five hours while emergency crews worked and investigators processed the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by South Brunswick Traffic Bureau Officer Trevor Michie. Anyone with information on the crash can call (732)329-4646
