SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A driver from Monmouth Junction has been charged in connection with a fatal crash that took place in mid-April, South Brunswick Police said.
On April 15 at 7 p.m., A 42-year-old Monmouth Junction man was driving a 2017 Toyota Camry and tried to turn left from the Route 1 southbound off-ramp onto New Road when he struck the front passenger side of a 2025 Audi Q5 traveling west on New Road.
The Audi lost control and overturned, police said.
The driver, a 21-year-old Branchburg man, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.
He was brought to Robert Wood Johnson University, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The South Brunswick Traffic Safety Bureau completed an extensive investigation of the case and submitted its findings to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
Based on the investigation, Officer Trevor Michie issued the Monmouth Junction man multiple motor vehicle summonses, including careless driving, turning where prohibited, operating an unregistered vehicle, failure to signal, and obstructing the passage of vehicles.
The driver has an upcoming municipal court date. Authorities did not release the driver's identity.
