SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A New York man has died following a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike, NJ State Police told Patch.
Around 8 p.m. on Friday, troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on the NJ Turnpike north outer roadway, at milepost 75.5 in South Brunswick.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police said a Ford van was going north in the area of milepost 75.5 when the driver lost directional control of the vehicle, struck the left guardrail and overturned.
During the crash, the front seat passenger, later identified as Juan Ramirez Mejia, 28, of Yonkers, NY, was ejected and sustained fatal injuries, police said.
There were no other reported injuries on scene. The driver's identity has not been released by authorities.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
As of Tuesday afternoon, no additional information was available.
