Woman Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Middlesex County Crash

Monroe Police are seeking witnesses to the Route 33 crash that occurred early Sunday morning.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — A Trenton woman suffered serious life-threatening injuries after her vehicle struck a utility pole in Monroe early Sunday morning, police said Thursday.

Around 4:28 a.m. on Aug. 30, officers responded to Route 33 between Applegarth Road and Perrineville Road for a report of a single-vehicle crash. According to a preliminary investigation, the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Route 33 before leaving the road and striking a utility pole on the westbound side of the highway.

The driver, a Trenton woman, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

Investigators believe additional motorists were traveling on Route 33 at the time of the crash and may have witnessed the incident or the circumstances leading up to it.

The Monroe Township Police Department Traffic Safety Division is asking anyone who witnessed the crash, was traveling on Route 33 near Applegarth Road and Perrineville Road around 4:28 a.m., or has information relevant to the investigation to contact Officer Taylor Deickmann at 732-521-0222, extension 248.

The crash remains under investigation.
