2. South Brunswick Library To Celebrate Grand Opening Of Expanded Building (patch.com) — South Brunswick residents are invited to celebrate the grand opening of the newly expanded Christopher J. Killmurray Library Building on Saturday, Oct. 17, featuring a ribbon-cutting and family carnival. The South Brunswick Public Library now offers enlarged teen spaces, new workrooms, an Innovation Lab, a Friends Theatre, and improved parking and entrances, funded through state, county, federal, and local support.
3. Car Goes Up In Flames On Rt. 130 South Brunswick, Driver Escapes Unhurt (patch.com) — A car fire on Route 130 north in South Brunswick briefly shut the highway Wednesday afternoon, but the driver escaped without injuries. Police and the Monmouth Junction Fire Department quickly responded near Deans Rhode Hall Road, extinguished the blaze, and reopened the road after about 20 minutes, minimizing disruption for local drivers.
4. Princeton Asks DEP To Deny Air Permit For South Brunswick Data Center (patch.com) — A proposed data center in South Brunswick is drawing opposition from Princeton officials, who are urging state regulators to deny its air permit over concerns about diesel generator emissions. They're pushing for cleaner backup power options and warning that pollution could affect nearby neighborhoods and schools, while regional activists continue pressing for stricter oversight of large data centers.
