According to statements made in court and documents filed in the case, Pensak had sex with an inmate in January 2026 at Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in Burlington County.

Prosecutors said Pensak and the inmate also exchanged sexually explicit photos and messages over social media and other apps. The inmate used two contraband cell phones while in custody, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Pensak also admitted the relationship in text messages to multiple people, including relatives of the inmate, prosecutors said.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Frazer credited FBI special agents, under Special Agent in Charge Stefanie Roddy, and the U.S. Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General, under Special Agent in Charge Timothy Edminston, with the investigation.
