Assemblyman Zwicker To Speak At South Brunswick Protest Friday

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The Black Lives Matter march planned for this Friday outside South Brunswick High School has attracted some well-known local residents to speak:

Local state Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker, Democrat, will speak, along with schools superintendent Scott Feder and Cantor Rockman, chair of South Brunswicks’s Interfaith Clergy Association.

The march is orchestrated by two South Brunswick High grads, Essence Baker and Jada-Rae Poku.

South Brunswick police will be marching alongside protesters, said Poku.

The march will begin at 4:30 p.m. and last until 7:30 p.m. It will start and end at South Brunswick High School, and will be approximately 3.3 miles in distance.

“Having grown up in our lovely town, we have always loved being able to look at our fellow classmates and neighbors and to see so much diversity," said the two women in a statement provided to Patch. "It is that diversity that we aim to continue to unite and encourage."
