Asteroids Blaze to Flight 5 Title

The U-14 Asteroids were the Flight 5 Champions for the Fall 2010 season with a record of 7-1-2.

The U-14 Asteroids travel soccer team won the championship for the Fall 2010 season with a tie at West Orange 2-2 last month.  The Asteroids dominated play from the opening minute and broke through on a well-placed 45-yard shot by Mike Wijesinghe in the top right corner.

Not to be outdone, Danny Kuriakose pushed the Asteroids ahead 2-0 at halftime by dribbling past a sprawled West Orange goalie to score.  Elijah Suggs moved to defense to counter the West Orange speed and played shutdown defense the entire game.

West Orange would rally to tie the game but the Asteroids kept up the constant pressure just missing on two shots that would have broken the tie.
