Basement Fire in Culver Road Home Monday Morning

A home on Culver Road in South Brunswick Township has been left uninhabitable Monday after a fire broke out in the basement Monday morning.

South Brunswick, NJ - A home on Culver Road in South Brunswick Township has been left uninhabitable Monday after a fire broke out in the basement Monday morning.

At 9:18 a.m. Monday, the Monmouth Junction Fire Department was dispatched to 101 Culver Road for a smoke condition in the basement. Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the basement and were able to contain the fire to one section of the basement, South Brunswick police said.

In addition to the Monmouth Junction Fire Department, the Kendall Park and Kingston Fire Companies also responded, as well as South Brunswick and Kendall Park EMS. Culver Road was shut down during the incident. The fire was out and the scene was cleared by 11:30 a.m. There were no injuries, and the fire is under investigation by the South Brunswick Township Fire Safety Bureau. The home is temporarily uninhabitable and the occupants will be staying with family in the area, police said.
