Bat Found In South Brunswick Tests Positive For Rabies
A bat found in the Monmouth Junction section of town tested positive for rabies. Last month, a feral cat found in town tested positive.

A bat found in South Brunswick has tested positive for rabies, officials said.
The South Brunswick Health Department received the test results from the state on Friday.
The bat was found near Blackhorse Lane and Henderson Road, in the Monmouth Junction section of town.

In July, a feral cat found near Deans Lane and Route 1 in town tested positive for rabies, according to the county.

Officials are reminding residents to:
- “Vaccinate all pets against rabies and keep vaccinations current.
- “Report unusual behavior of stray or wild animals to South Brunswick Animal Control.
- “Never feed or touch wild animals and avoid contact with stray pets.
- “Immediately report any bite from wildlife as well as from domestic pets to the South Brunswick Health Department 732-329-4000 ext. 7237 during business hours or to the South Brunswick Police Department 732-329-4646 nights, weekends, and holidays.”
