PHOTOS: Blackburn Completes South Brunswick Running Career at Meet of Champions
Senior runner finishes career in top 50 at Meet of Champions.
After a successful four-year run for the South Brunswick High School cross country team, senior Tyler Blackburn finished his stellar career at the Meet of Champions on Nov. 19 at Holmdel.
Blackburn finished in 44th place, with a time of 16:34 and an average mile time of 5:20. Blackburn was the lone South Brunswick runner to qualify for the Meet of Champions after finishing in 14th place with a time of 16:29 in the NJSIAA Group IV cross-country championships, held on Nov. 12.
At the Group IV sectionals held on Nov. 5, Blackburn was the top South Brunswick runner, finishing in 4th place with a time of 16:07. As a team, SBHS finished in 5th place 1:25:07.

The Meet of Champions marks the end of Blackburn's running career, as he plans to focus on swimming when he gets to college. Blackburn is also on the SBHS varsity swim team, where he was the 2010 GMC 500 freestyle champion and part of the winning 2011 GMC 200 freestyle relay. He holds the 200 freestyle, the 500 freestyle and the 200 freestyle relay school records.
In July, Blackburn also competed at the , held at the Georgia Institute of Technology Aquatics Center.
