Boat Abandoned On Rt. 1 In South Brunswick
Breaking: Someone abandoned a 37-foot motor boat on the side of Rt. 1 in South Brunswick Township Thursday.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Dude, where's my boat? Someone left a 37-foot motorboat on the side of Rt. 1 Thursday afternoon in South Brunswick Township, and as of 5:30 p.m., police were still trying to remove it from the roadway.
Someone called in the boat just before 3 p.m. Thursday, said Capt. James Ryan. The boat had been left on wooden blocks off Rt. 1 near Beekman Road.
"We think someone had an issue towing it and so they just left it," said Ryan. Police kept Rt. 1 open, but the boat has already been causing traffic delays. There was at least one fender bender on Rt. 1 northbound due to drivers rubbernecking and gawking at the boat.

Reilly's Collision Center is currently trying to tow the boat. The boat is named Maraliya and it's registered out of Larchmont, NY. South Brunswick police will run its registration information with the NJ State Police, but for now their main concern is getting it off Rt. 1, Ryan said.
