Break-in in Brunswick Acres Development in South Brunswick

Police: Residents should lock their doors at night.

South Brunswick, NJ - An overnight burglary occurred in the Brunswick Acres development early Saturday morning.

Police responded to a Barbara Street home at 6:50 a.m. Saturday after the resident woke up and found a purse and wallet had been stolen from her kitchen. Officers determined that sometime between 10 p.m. Friday when the residents went to sleep, and 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning when one of the residents woke up, someone entered an unlocked rear sliding door and stole the items. It appears the suspect went onto the homeowners' back deck and rifled through the purse.

Police are following leads in the case but remind residents to check all doors to make sure they are locked prior to going to bed for the night. Police are also asking residents to be alert for unusual activity late at night.
