A South Brunswick woman paid $9,500 for a car she found on Craigslist. Then, she found out it had been reported stolen, police said.

Then, she found out it had been reported stolen, police said.
The 2009 Infiniti G37 was reported stolen July 6, in Long Island, a news release from South Brunswick Police Capt. James Ryan said.

According to that news release:
On July 9, the woman went to the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission on Route 130 in the township to transfer the title for the car.

On Monday, records showed it was reported stolen, and on Tuesday, South Brunswick police recovered the car from that woman’s driveway.
She told detectives that she purchased the car after seeing a Craigslist ad for it.
The seller brought the car to her and gave her the title.
Detectives are working with investigators from New York on the case.
