Cause of Willowbrook Fire Remains Unknown

North Brunswick Deputy Fire Marshal is still investigating the cause of the blaze that killed two pets and left eight families homeless.

The cause of the Nov. 17 massive fire that broke out in the Willowbrook complex in North Brunswick remains unknown, according to the township fire marshal.

“We have not completed the fire report yet,” Deputy Fire Marshal Donald Salzmann told Patch. The fire marshal and North Brunswick police are still investigating the cause of the fire.

The fire was devastating: One woman and her baby were trapped in the blaze, and she had to throw the baby off a balcony, where it was caught by North Brunswick police officer Nate Nicholson. The fire killed at least two pets, a dog and a cat, and destroyed eight units in the complex.
