Someone tried to make off with a high-end car warming up in a driveway early Wednesday morning, Cranbury Twp. police said.

CRANBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ — Someone tried to steal a car while the owner had it warming up in their driveway Wednesday morning in Cranbury Township, police there announced.
The incident happened before 8 a.m. today, Dec. 12 in the area of the Shadow Oaks development in Cranbury. Police said a black male suspect attempted to take a resident’s vehicle as it was warming up in the driveway.
The car, described only by police as "high end," was unlocked, with the keys inside. After getting into the car, the suspect backed it into a tree, however. That's when he got out and fled on foot.
