1 Killed After Cranbury Woman 'Intentionally' Drives Into Oncoming Traffic: Police
Lisa Pollitt has been charged with murder. Police say it appears to be a "random act" as the victims did not know each other.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Cranbury woman was charged in connection with a fatal crash, which resulted in the death of a 95-year-old woman and caused serious injury to the driver of the car involved, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Michael J. Owens of the Cranbury Police Department said.
On Feb. 10, at around 4:12 p.m., Lisa Pollitt, 36, of Cranbury intentionally drove her vehicle into oncoming traffic where she struck an unidentified driver and her passenger, Ann “Nancy” Stewart, 95, of Monroe, who were traveling north on Route 130, Ciccone said.
Both women sustained serious injuries and were taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital where Stewart remained in critical condition, Ciccone said.

On Feb. 12, Stewart died as a result of her injuries, police said. Pollitt was initially arrested and charged with separate counts of second-and third-degree aggravated assault and fourth-degree obstruction. Upon Stewart's death, she was charged with one count of first-degree murder, Ciccone said.
At present, authorities say the incident appears to be a "random act" as Pollitt and the victims did not know each other.
