Delivery Man Critical After Being Hit By Car In South Brunswick
A Hudson County delivery man remains in very critical condition Wednesday morning after he was hit by a car Tuesday on Fresh Ponds Rd.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A delivery man from Hudson County remains in very critical condition Wednesday morning after he was hit by a car Tuesday night on Fresh Ponds Road in South Brunswick, police say.
The accident happened at 5:30 Tuesday evening, Dec. 4: The man, who police think was dropping off a Home Depot delivery to a private home, pulled his box truck to the side of Fresh Ponds Road near Deans Rhode Hall Road as he went to make a delivery.
That's when he was struck, while in the roadway, by a person driving a 2011 Mercedes. The driver, a 31-year-old North Brunswick man, remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with authorities, police said.

"It's very dark there," said Deputy Chief James Ryan. No charges have been filed against the driver.
South Brunswick EMS and paramedics took the injured man, 47, from North Bergen, to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He remains there Wednesday morning with very serious injuries. Traffic Officer William Merkler is investigating.
