Driver Drunk In Crash That Killed South Brunswick Man: Prosecutor
Police have charged a Marlboro man in connection with the fatal crash that killed Dayton resident Gerald Pellak III.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Marlboro man was charged with drunk driving and vehicular homicide in connection with a crash that killed a South Brunswick resident.
Around 4:35 a.m., on Sept. 19, officers responded to the area of Major Road following reports of a single-car crash. A joint investigation by the South Brunswick Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office found that Antonino Ferlita, 22, was driving a 2002 Ford F-350 on Major Road when he left his lane, causing the truck to overturn, and strike a tree.
The passenger, Gerald Pellak, III, 22, of Dayton, died at the scene, authorities said.

Ferlita was charged with one count of second-degree vehicular homicide, driving while intoxicated, and other motor vehicle offenses, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yoland Ciccone and South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said in a joint statement.
