Dundee Road, Ritter Road Construction Begins In South Brunswick. What To Know:

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - The Township began roadway improvements on Dundee Road and Ritter Road Monday, funded in part by a $386,260 state grant, officials announced.

Work started on Ritter Road on Monday and will continue through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Roads will be closed to through traffic during work hours, though local traffic and emergency vehicles will be permitted access.

The Township was awarded the funding through the New Jersey Department of Transportation Municipal Aid grant program.

"South Brunswick continues to make strategic investments in infrastructure that directly improve safety, reliability, and quality of life for our residents," Mayor Charlie Carley said. "While this work will require temporary adjustments for drivers, the long-term benefits of safer roads and upgraded utilities are significant and lasting."

The project includes the following improvements:

• Sanitary sewer system upgrades, including new mains and connections

• Potable water system improvements, including new mains, hydrants and services

• Drainage and underdrain improvements

• Full replacement of curb, sidewalk, driveway aprons and ADA handicapped ramps

• Roadway reclamation and installation of a new asphalt surface

• Final restoration and striping of roadway

Motorists are advised that traffic patterns will change throughout the duration of the project. Flaggers and construction signage will be in place where necessary. Work will proceed in phases to minimize disruption, officials said. The township did not provide a projected completion date.
