DWI Crash Near South Brunswick: Police

A North Brunswick woman was injured in the DWI crash in Cranbury Township Saturday night.

Cranbury, NJ - Alcohol played a role in a three-vehicle crash near South Brunswick Saturday night, in Cranbury Township, police confirmed to Patch. This crash comes one day after a 13-year-old girl was killed in a crash on Rt. 1 in South Brunswick because the driver may have been looking at his phone, police said.

Sheila Davis, a Perth Amboy woman, 47, was driving a Toyota Scion when she rear-ended a Honda Civic at about 10 p.m. on Rt. 130 North at Station Road, police said. The force of the collision was so great that air bags deployed in both vehicles.

The Civic, driven by a 24-year-old North Brunswick woman, was stopped at a red light when it was hit.

The Toyota kept moving after the initial impact, pushing both cars into the rear of a third vehicle, a Ford F 150, driven by 39-year-old Princeton man. He had also stopped for the light.

Davis, who had an open container in her car, was found to be at fault for the crash, police said. She was later charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, refusal to submit to a DWI test, failure to exhibit her driver’s license, careless driving and reckless driving, police said.
