Early Voting Begins In South Brunswick: Here's What To Do

Early voting begins Saturday. Here's some information to help you through the process.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The nine-day in-person, early voting period in New Jersey begins Saturday, and South Brunswick officials have released information guiding residents through the process.

Voters can choose to vote, in-person, when it’s most convenient for their schedule. In-person early voting locations open Saturday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 31. Hours will be Monday-Saturday, 10 am - 8 pm and Sunday, 10 am – 6 pm. No appointment is necessary.

Those who participate in early voting won't be allowed to send a mail-in ballot or vote in person on Election Day.

How To Cast Your Early Vote:

Upon arriving at the location, voters can go to any table to check in. They can use their sample ballot or driver’s license to quicken the process. Voters will sign in on an electronic poll book. An important thing to note is, each voter’s signature on the electronic poll book will become their official signature for elections.

After signing the poll book and following other instructions from poll workers, voters will receive an Authority to Vote (ATV) slip and a ballot card. They will then hand the ATV slip to the poll worker at the machine. The electronic poll book will print a bar code on the ballot card so the voting machine knows which ballot to activate.

Voters can then enter the polling booth and insert their ballot card into the voting machine. Next, they will make their selection by touching the screen. Selections should then be reviewed in the summary screen before touching “Print Ballot” to review the printed card in the window to the right. Finally, touch “Cast Ballot” and the card is then tabulated and deposited into a secure card container.

Where To Cast Your Early Vote:

The Community Center at 124 New Road, Monmouth Junction is an in-person early voting location in South Brunswick.

“Middlesex County is making voting as convenient for our voters as possible. This year, we are expanding the ways in which voters can cast their ballot with the addition of ten early voting locations throughout the County,” said Middlesex County Clerk Nancy J. Pinkin.

“Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy and a vital, all-important tool we as Americans use to shape our communities.”

Mail-in Ballots cannot be returned to an in-person early voting location or Election Day polling places.

Registered voters also have the option to vote-by-mail or going to the polls on election day. County officials have already sent out mail-in ballots to voters who automatically get one each year, or those who have requested one.
