Garden Workshop

Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County invites you to take part in a garden workshop exploring the time tested strategies of Square Foot and 3 Sisters Gardening .

The workshop takes place on April 21 from 1-3 p.m. at the EARTH Center located in Davidson’s Mill Pond Park 42 Riva Ave. South Brunswick.

Instructor for the class will be Rutgers Master Gardener Juanell Boyd who will explain to attendees the values of these planting strategies as well as her experiences. There is a $20 program fee. Register in advance at 732-398-5268.

Square foot gardening incorporates the use of compost, and concentrates on a small clearly defined area. Advocates say this method works great for areas with poor soil, beginning gardeners or those with disabilities. 3 Sisters Gardening is a Native American technique of companion planting.
