On the first Wednesday of every month, the topic of the Wednesday Wisdom program is lectures - either live, on DVD or online.
The library will continue to show selections from TED.com "Riveting talks by remarkable people, free to the world." Topics will be annouced on this calendar each month and will be posted in the library.
The TED Talks for May 2, 2012 are all about Books and Reading. Chip Kidd: Designing books is no laughing matter. OK, it is; Sherry Turkle: Connected, but alone?; What we learned from 5 million books; and Brewster Kahle builds a free digital library.
There will be no Wednesday Wisdom on June 6 to allow for the set-up for the June Book Sale to be held on June 9th and 10th.
The Wednesday Wisdom Program will take the months of July and August off to allow for Summer Reading programming. Starting in September, there will be changes to the Wednesday Wisdom Program.
