SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — On Thursday, Sept. 7, almost 10,000 kids will return to South Brunswick public schools for the first day of school. Private schools in the Township started Tuesday.
And expect to see dramatically amped-up police presence at key intersections in South Brunswick to make sure students get to school safely. As they do every fall, South Brunswick police are re-launching Operation Safe Schools.
The plan will place officers at every school in the district at the start and end of the school day, police announced. There will also be enhanced traffic enforcement zones set up around the schools for traffic enforcement. At any one time, more than a dozen officers will be dedicated to the operation.
