Extra South Brunswick Police On These Roads Week Of July 22

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick Police will provide the public with notice of areas in the Township where there will be increased traffic enforcement.

Also, Major Road, between Rt. 1 and Northumberland Way, will be closed from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Monday July 23 for milling of the roadway. The following day Wheeler Road, between New Road and Constable Road, is also scheduled to be closed from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. for roadwork. The closure on Major Road may last several days during the paving process. There will be detour routes in the area of both road closures. Plan an alternate route of travel if possible. Roadwork will be weather permitting.

While enforcement efforts take place throughout the Township, these areas will receive additional focus for the week of July 22:

Location: Ridge Road/Monmouth Junction

Issue: Pedestrian Safety

Location: Rt. 522 between Route 130 and Kingston Lane

Issue: Commercial Motor Vehicle enforcement

Location: Fresh Ponds Road

Issue: Speeding

Location: Ridge Road / Dayton

Issue: Overweight Trucks

Last week’s traffic enforcement consisted of 383 motor vehicle stops conducted by South Brunswick police officers.
